ARE WE HAPPIER THAN OUR FOREFATHERS?
When anyone ask us a question “Are we happier than our
forefathers?” we straight away replies that we are living in modern age of high
technology. We are living luxurious life with best facilities as ever. It is
almost impossible to compare our modern life with the life style of those
ancient people.
Let’s have a look at those things which are products of
today’s modern world which were not there during ancient time period. In
today’s world, we have strong communication system which has turned this world
into a global village. For instance, internet, mobile phones, Facebook etc. On
the other hand, science & technology has certainly changed the life on this
planet. People are enjoying luxurious life style while living easily in multi
storied buildings with temperature controlled equipment. Quality food products
are easily available in market at affording prices. We are much more
sophisticated and civilised as compared to our forefathers. People can easily
earn their bread & butter working at home with the help of technology. If
we look at the list of top richest people worldwide, we also find names of
those people who earned everything just by using technology to launch their
products like Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon Company, Bill Gates, who introduced
Microsoft Company & Larry Page, owner of Google.

ESSAY ON COVID 19 CORONAVIRUS
Medical science is yet again doing marvelous job for
humanity. Those diseases which were considered as incurable in past, are now
cured easily. Even treatment of diseases like tuberculosis and Dengue is
available in today’s modern world. Education has become easier for students
worldwide. Countless knowledge is available on net. You just have to search it
while sitting at home. You don’t even have to spend money for purchasing books
or travelling long journeys just to search libraries. E-libraries have brought
treasures of knowledge at home. These treasures can be explored just by
clicking one button.
When we look at time period of our forefathers, we realise that they did not have those luxurious houses with temperature controlled
appliances but they had peace of mind. They spent stress-free life. They only
had to care about earning for their today. They had firm belief that tomorrow
will do good care of them on its arrival. They had strong family system which
has been diluted in today’s modern world. They had quality time for their
families and for upbringing of their children. They earned less but they
enjoyed their spare time in tension free environment which is almost a dream in
today’s hectic life. I agree, communication was difficult at that time but
their sentiments for their loved ones, family, relatives and friends were far higher
as compared to us. Above all, they lived their lives free from deadly diseases
like cancer, aids, paralysis etc. They had no worries about facing tsunamis or
earthquakes because these disasters are output of today’s modern technology. We
all know that digging for creating multi storied buildings disturb the plate
tectonics of earth results in heavy earthquakes.
To sum up, it can be said that every age has its own pros
and cons. Modern age has its own blessings & curse while time period of our
forefathers had its own advantages and disadvantages but living a pious tension
free life while serving mankind is biggest achievement whether in primitive
time or in today’s modern age.
