The Industry is Growing Rapidly

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the industry is expected to grow by 11 percent from 2016 to 2026. This is about as fast as the average for all occupations. The growth is being driven by an increase in demand for goods and services. The industry employs over 2 million people, with job opportunities ranging from entry-level positions to management roles. 

Entry-level jobs can include call centre agents, customer service representatives, account managers and sales agents. Many companies offer internal training programs that can help employees move up within the company or jumpstart their careers in another field.

A degree isn't necessary: Individuals don't necessarily need a degree to get into this field; they just need some basic communication skills and experience with computers or customer service software like Salesforce. 

Entry-level jobs often require candidates to have high school diplomas or GEDs but many times companies will hire individuals without degrees if they have plenty of experience working on computer systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel or Outlook.

You'll find plenty of opportunities in these fields--particularly if you're willing to take on roles that require shift work or live outside major metropolitan areas. 1) Check out the qualifications for the type of position you want at places where you might be interested in working. If they don't list requirements, call them and ask what they would expect someone to have as far as education or experience.

Consumer Services Senior Executives Make Great Money

In 2017, the median salary for a Consumer Services Senior Executive was $104,780. That's nearly double the median salary for all workers in the United States! And it's not just the top executives who make good money in consumer services. The average salary for all workers in the industry was $47,860 in 2017, which is also higher than the average for all workers in the United States. 

And as with many other industries, there are plenty of opportunities at both the lower and upper ends of the pay scale. For example, one may make $21,420 per year as an Office Worker and another may make over $200k as a Director or Vice President. If you want to make more than the average, then start your search for a position that requires more education. 

Positions like Management Consultant require 3-5 years of college education and Financial Analyst require 2-4 years of a college education. Even if you have some experience working in customer service without formal training, earning more can still be possible by taking classes online (i.e., MIT OpenCourseWare) or attending night school while working full time. 

Do You Have What it Takes to be a Successful Consumer Service Leader?

When it comes to working in consumer services, there are a few key traits that will help you succeed. First and foremost, you must be able to build rapport with customers and maintain positive relationships. You'll also need to be patient and efficient when handling customer inquiries, as well as have excellent problem-solving skills. 

If you have these qualities and more, then a career in consumer services could be the right path for you! The next step is to look at your current education or experience level. Are you qualified enough to find work at a reputable company? The most important factor is whether or not you're qualified for the position and/or if you're willing to put in the time and effort necessary for success. You should also consider whether or not this is an industry that interests you on an intellectual level. 

Do you enjoy learning about different products and how they can improve people's lives? Do you enjoy being in contact with others who have unique needs and wishes? Do you enjoy helping people solve their problems? Once you've answered all of these questions, then finding the right job should be easy!

4. Networking is also key - attend industry events or job fairs and make sure your resume is up-to-date and tailored to the type of position you're interested in. You'll be able to meet with representatives from different companies and ask them questions about their company culture, pay structure, work hours, etc. Be ready with a list of follow-up questions so you can keep the conversation going after they leave. 

5. Don't stop applying just because one company doesn't respond to your application; there could be another company on the other end waiting for someone like you!
