Djokovic makes history, surpasses Rafael Nadal
Even after overtaken by the current world number two, Daniil Medvedev, the Serbian tennis star retains the top position in the ATP ranking.
Novak Djokovic has now totally spent a total of 367 weeks at the top of the world rankings. He has now overtaken Roger Federer and Pete Sampras.
The record is not only about weeks but age. The Serban has actually become the third oldest player to reach the top 2 of the ATP rankings in the entire oepn era at the age of 34, 11 months and three days. This is how the Serbian has overtaken the Spaniad Rafael Nadal, who was in the top 2 of the rankings up to 34 years and 11 months.
The spaniard was forced by the injuries and long pauses to move up the rakings but now his return means threat to many.
In the current record, Djokovic is behind by two former tennis legeneds numbers ones who are Ken Rosewall and Roger Federer.
