The Mutua Madrid Open will feature the return of Rafael Nadal. The spaniard had a brilliant start to the season, winning the Australian Open against all odds.

Rafael Nadal suffered rib inury against Carlos Alcaraz in the semi finals of Indian Wells. Now, he only have only two tournaments available to regain his form for Roland Garros. During an interview for the official website of the Masters 1000 in Madrid, Ons Jabeur praised Nadal as an exemplary boy both on and off the court.

"It is a great inspiration, to see how many times Rafael Nadal has won here, hopefully I can win at least one. He is an amazing guy both on and off the court and I look forward to seeing him play for several more years."

Jabeur also said that she is delighted to be in Madrid and is working on improving her claycourt skills. "I am delighted to be in Madrid. I like to play on clay. I have positive feelings, I feel like I am improving every day and I am much more confident”.

Meanwhile, Nadal’s epic come-from-behind victory has been nominated in the ‘Best Comeback Within a Match’ category. 

Rafael Nadal has recently announed his return at Madrid Open and confiremed the news on his official twitter account. The Spaniard said that althoug the preparations are not that good, he would look to perform at a high level in his home tournament.

"Despite arriving just before preparation and being difficult, I really want to play and play at home since the opportunities are few. To try to do it in the best possible way. See you in Madrid." 

Nadal has maintained his impressive start this season. He has won three titles this season before a brief injury break.
