Today is the era of league cricket, which is played in T20 format. Almost every renowned cricket nation have now introduced their own cricket league. Similarly, Pakistan have also introduced their own cricket league with the title of ‘Pakistan Super League’ or ‘PSL’.

Recently, the 6th edition of PSL has been concluded giving us the 6th title winner of PSL. Due to Covid-19, the whole tournament was shifted to Abu Dhabi.

It was 24th June, 2021, when the final of the 6th edition of PSL was played in Abu Dhabi between Multan Sultans and Peshawar Zalmi.

Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and elected to field first.

Multan Sultan’s openers gave a good start to their team, Shan Masood and Muhammad Rizwan, both openers scored 30+ runs on board before getting out.

The main performer from the Multan Sultan’s batting side was Sohaib Maqsood who scored a hard-hitting 65 runs off just 35 balls with the help of 3 sixes and 6 boundaries and Rilee Rossouw who scored 50 runs off just 21 deliveries.

Multan Sultan completed their innings with 206/4 in their 20 overs.

Peshawar Zalmi required 207 runs in 20 overs to win the 6th title of PSL.

But Peshawar Zalmi’s batsmen couldn’t really capitalize the opportunity. Only Kamran Akmal and Shoaib Malik showed some resistance and rest other batsmen failed to showcase themselves.

Imran Tahir of Multan Sultans took 3 wickets in his 4 overs against Peshawar Zalmi.

Peshawar Zalmi could only manage 159/9 runs in their 20 overs.

Hence, Multan Sultans won the 6th title of PSL.

Shahnawaz Dahani was declared as the best bowler of the tournament while Sohaib Maqsood was declared as the best batsman of the tournament.

Sohaib Maqsood was also the Player of the Match and Player of the Series as well.
