ESSAY ON THE FESTIVAL OF EID-UL-FITR
Eid-ul-Fitr is a religious festival of
Muslims which they celebrate for three days after fasting for twenty-nine or
thirty days of Holy Ramadan.
Unlike other festivals in the world,
this festival is unique as it is given to Muslims by Allah (S.W.T) as a reward
of the Ramadan fasting.
On this day, Muslims, wake up early in
the Morning and after Fajar, they take bath, wear new clothes and use scents on
their clothes.
After that young, old and kids, all
gather in a huge ground called Eidgah and mosques to offer Namaz-e-Eid. Before
offering Namaz, they pay Sadqa-e-Fitr for poor people who cannot afford new
clothes for their children. After that, they offer Namaz-e-Eid. After Namaz,
they embrace each other to congratulate the festival of Eid.
This is an occasion of happiness, so
Muslims, on way back to their home from Eidgah, buy sweets and take it to their
home for their families.
The women are waiting for their men to
come back to their home and when they come back they serve them Sheer Khurma which
is a traditional desert made on Eid in Pakistan.
As this is a festival of happiness,
Muslims don’t forget their loved ones who have died, they go to graveyard and
pay visit to their graves and pray for their maghfirat from Allah (S.W.T).
After that, they rest till evening,
then go to meet relatives. Muslims go and meet their relatives where they enjoy
delicious food and sweets and have a get together and spend a quality time with
each other.
Unlike first day, there is no Namaz-e-Eid
on the second and third days of Eid. But they keep on enjoy things, like
enjoying delicious foods, having get together with relatives and friends and
going to public parks to spend a quality time on Eid-ul-Fitr.
Eid-ul-Fitr is a religious festival of
Muslims and they celebrate it with full religious enthusiasm.
